SUNDAY BUS REPLACEMENT SERVICE

Buses will replace Sunday trains on the Chester-Northwich-Knutsford-Altrincham-Stockport-Manchester Mid-Cheshire line on Sundays 16th and 23rd August. All day engineering work on those two days means that trains will be replaced by buses between Stockport and Chester.

Buses calling at all stations via Altrincham, Knutsford and Northwich will leave Stockport at 08.20, 09.40 and every two hours until 21.40. Buses will leave Chester at 07.36, 09.46 and every two hours until 19.46 and then at 21.08. Trains will operate between Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport.

Passengers are asked to allow more time for their journeys on those dates. Stopping places for the buses are:

Stockport - near the main entrance to the station.

Navigation Road - on the Wellington Road side of the level crossing. Note on Sunday 23rd August the level crossing will be closed all day.

Altrincham - in the car park behind platform 4 (the Chester-bound platform).

Hale - at the bus stops at the junction of Ashley Road and Victoria Road.

Ashley - by the Greyhound public house

Mobberley - at the T-junction of Smith Lane and Station Road

Knutsford - on either side of the road on Adams Hill.

Plumley - on Plumley Moor Road on the village side of the bridge.

Lostock Gralam - at the junction of Station Road and Rose Meadow on the village side of the station bridge.

Northwich - in the station car park.

Greenbank - on either side of the road outside the Greenbank Hotel.
